I'M michael Edwards

My subject matter includes Spokane's historic buildings, landmarks and popular attractions. It also includes frequently overlooked buildings that are either architecturally or historically significant but often ignored in alternative artistic mediums. Spokane, Washington is naturally beautiful place with a powerful waterfall that runs through the heart of the city. Its strategic location makes it a logical center for trade. It's not surprising that even when Spokane was just a young city, it was already attracting the attention of investors, architects and tradesmen. Sadly, Spokane was devastated by a great fire in 1889. Thankfully, the citizens wasted no time rebuilding. The process of rebuilding Spokane after the fire has resulted in beautiful architecture that is now a hallmark of the city. I invite you to share in my journey – let’s enjoy Spokane together.

Inspiration

I have lived and worked in Spokane my entire life and Spokane is where my wife and I have raised our family. My life's experiences have fostered an immense appreciation for Spokane's deep history and enduring architecture. I've traveled to Europe which is a source of inspiration and perspective.

Pen and ink is my medium. It is uncluttered which allows me to showcase my work in fine detail.
